Ocala Congratulates the Final 4 Golden Ticket Winners of American Equestrians Got Talent 2023
March 10th 2023,
Since 2018, Discover Dressage has been proud to underwrite Robert Dover’s American Equestrians Got Talent, now a signature event in Wellington, highlighting the exceptional talents and abilities of our own equestrians, while raising significant support for the United States Equestrian Federation Youth Programs.
This year we have expanded AEGT, including the Ocala community, in a re-packaged, re-energized form. On March 8th, 2023, the equestrian community of Ocala took a short respite from their horse duties and, for the first time, welcomed the AEGT live auditions at Yellow Pony Pub & Garden at the World Equestrian Center.
A wide range of talent was showcased, including two opera singers, a country singer and a dressage rider playing her guitar.
The talent was evaluated by Ocala’s very own Celebrity Judges, Shelly Frances, USA Grand Prix Dressage rider; Matt Martin,HunterJumper trainer; Joe Alberti, Champion Arabian Horse Handler; Tami BoBo, Race Horse Breeder and owner of Kentucky Derby contender Simplification, and Joani White Wild -life photographer. Margaret Swanson, jumper rider, was AEGT’s first Mistress of Ceremonies.
The audience and judges were mesmerized by all the talent, but at the end, the top four, Gabriela Juron, Francesca Wright, Agustin Puga, and David Beaty were awarded Golden Tickets, which send them on to the $10,000 Grand Finale on April 15th, 2023 at the Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club
Gabriela Juron: Whitney Houston never disappoints.
Gabriela soulfully sang “I Have Nothing” from Whitney Houston. She wowed the crowd and showed her wide range of vocal abilities and control. Judge Tami Bobo didn’t think twice and rang the cowbell loudly. Gabriela received the first Golden Ticket of the night.
David Beaty: Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll
Elvis fans of all ages were pleasantly surprised David Beaty, who paid tribute to one of the greatest singers of all time. David mesmerized the audience with his vocals, energy, stage presence, style and charisma, creating an absolutely unforgettable performance. The judges awarded him a collection of 10s. Shelly Francis gave him the Golden Ticket.
Agustin Puga: Jaw-Dropping Performance
Agustin’s performance came as a complete surprise to all. As the final performer before the break, Agustin not only sang, but danced to his version of Frank Sinatra song, "Fly Me to the Moon". Not even 10 seconds after of his first notes, Judge Matt Martin stood up and rang the Cowbell excitedly. That gave Agustin the Third Golden Ticket of the night.
Soprano Francesca Wight delivers
Last to go, Francesca performed a beautiful rendition of the Puccini aria “O Mio Babbino Caro”. With her unbelievable voice control and astonishing vocals, the crowd went wild. Her performance secured her a spot in the final round when she won the last Golden Ticket.
